genua GmbH is one of Germany’s leading experts in protecting complex and critical IT infrastructures. With around 300 employees, genua develops and implements cutting-edge IT security solutions that safeguard the operational capability of enterprises and public organizations.

Briefing

In 2020, genua redefined its brand identity through a comprehensive rebranding process that repositioned the company both visually and strategically, paving the way for a stronger digital presence. The company’s corporate website was to reflect this new identity and translate it into a contemporary online experience. The goal: a digital presence that makes the brand stand out while remaining technically robust. A TYPO3 relaunch provided the perfect foundation and marked the beginning of our collaboration with genua.

Concept & Implementation

We translated the new brand design into a digital language and thoroughly reworked the existing, content-heavy website. Together with genua, we restructured and prioritized the wealth of information to create a clear information architecture that improves navigation and user flow. Based on this foundation, we designed a striking visual system with bold colors, clean typography, and strong contrasts and implemented it in a modern TYPO3 setup.

The project was not only about design but also about technology. We upgraded TYPO3 to the latest version and developed custom plugins tailored precisely to genua’s requirements. In close alignment with the client’s technical team, we ensured seamless integration of all functionalities, resulting in a platform that is powerful, flexible, and future-proof.

  • Implementation of a partner portal within the TYPO3 environment
  • Development of a comprehensive knowledge base as an information platform featuring articles, use cases and interviews – thematically interlinked and displayable across relevant pages
  • Integration of a product finder for targeted navigation through the product portfolio
  • Design and implementation of the careers section with direct online application functionality
  • SEO consulting and ongoing optimisation of visibility and performance
  • Training sessions for the editorial team to enable independent content management

Since the relaunch, we have continuously enhanced the platform. About a year ago, we introduced a subtle design facelift alongside another major TYPO3 upgrade. The result: a lighter, more spacious look and feel, clearer content presentation, and improved usability. For long-form content, we also implemented modern navigation patterns to simplify access to complex information.

Result

The relaunch marked the beginning of a long-term partnership that continues to this day. Mediatis serves as genua’s Digital Lead Agency, managing and evolving the company’s online presence. We work closely with genua’s marketing and technical teams, advise on new requirements, and translate them directly into digital solutions.
