Project description

Children are our future – and deserve our full protection. Against this background, the Pontifical Gregorian University Rom has invited 140+ renowned experts from business, science, politics, civil society and religious communities to discuss the battle against child exploitation and abuse on the internet at a special congress, 3-6 October 2017. Across a wide range of lectures, workshops and panel discussions, the international gathering throws a spotlight on issues ranging from cyber protection, cyber education and cyber responsibility to the roles of companies, media, society, politics and religious organisations in this matter.

We have developed and created the corresponding event website – couched in a distinct visual design that emphasises the sensitive topic through clever tweaks. Subtle glitch effects disrupt and disturb the eye and mind: Artificial image glitches in pictures showing children with digital devices underscore the disruptions and stumbling blocks kids can (and might have to) face online.

At the same time, the website manages to present a packed schedule and wealth of information – three days of conference programme, introduction to approx. 60 speakers and plenty of other relevant, congress-related information – on a pleasantly clean, modern and easy-to-navigate website.

What’s more, the integrated registration process for invited participants provides access to an additional layer. Depending on user group and classification, logged-in participants receive a download overview, further information on the event or the option to register for associated special events.

So, no vital information is lost – and no child is left behind.
